Roof. A further unique feature of our Contemporary Yurts is the fully water proof roofs, with thermally welded seams suitable for the British climate. We know it rains here, so all roofs have a built in rain diverter so you wont get dripped on as you open the door. Fallen leaves and bird droppings can be easily brushed or hosed off the roof without staining. Canvas roofs in the UK climate are prone to leaks, holding damp, staining and eventually rotting.

Valance. All our yurt roofs have a coloured valance band on the edge of the roof. This is available in Blue, Green, Red and Chocolate. Custom colours are available upon request. All fabrics used in the roofs are fire proof, water proof, rot proof and UV stabilised.

Walls. The breathable walls are made from heavy weight fire proof and rot proof cotton canvas in a natural colour. Two circular windows are supplied as standard, more windows are available upon request.

The windows have 3 layers to allow combinations of privacy, light, ventilation and security.

Installation

A flat surface is not required for a Contemporary Yurt as we always recommend they are installed upon a solid wooden platform. This usually floats just above the ground to ensure the Yurt is free of damp. The deck is secured to the ground with 4x4 posts going into steel met posts. This ensures minimal environmental impact. Upon receipt of your order we will provide you with plans for the basic circular deck required. Many people like to extend the decks with external seating areas.
